Fatal Claw Abilities, Cabitz & Claw Upgrades
Fatal Claw runs three different power systems with similar-sounding names, and the store page describes all three in one paragraph — which is why "what is Cabitz" and "what are Engraved Skills" get mixed up constantly. This page separates the 16 named systems and says where each name comes from.
Everything below is sourced. Where the game has never published a number — Cabitz slot counts, the total number of Aisare's Stone Shards, how many Engraved Skills exist — the row says so. That is the honest state of the data two days after 1.0, not an oversight.
Ability systems
Three separate power sources, and they are easy to confuse because all three are described as "abilities" in different places.
| System | What it does | Confirmed by | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Mutated Abilities | Kisha's own unlockable powers, used to take down the infected. | Steam store description; achievement "Water Cat" names one of them — Meditation of Jibanam, which overcomes the fear of water. | At least one mutation is a traversal key rather than a combat move: without Meditation of Jibanam you cannot reach the Water Sanctuary. |
| Engraved Skills | Magic absorbed from the world and released at a chosen moment to counter enemy abilities. | Steam store description: "Absorb magical Engraved Skills as you venture into the underground world, and unleash them at a precise moment to counter your enemies' abilities." | Players have posted about rooms with skill icons on the wall (Steam discussion, 2026-08-27); NDEV GAMES has not published how those rooms work, so this site does not claim to know. |
| Inherited Skills | A separate skill category acquired through a taught encounter. | Achievement "1-on-1 Lesson" — Acquire an Inherited Skill. | Named only by the achievement. The teacher is not identified in any official post. |
Customisation and upgrades
The Claw is the upgrade track; Cabitz is the modification track.
| System | What it does | Confirmed by | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cabitz | Magic stones that add new abilities or customise existing ones. | Steam store description; achievement "Fine-Tuned!" — Equip Cabitz. | The store copy calls Cabitz "mysterious" and does not publish a slot count or a stat list. |
| Combinator | A device obtained from Jack's Vault, described by its achievement name as the start of remixing. | Achievement "Remix Begins!" — Open Jack's Vault and obtain the Combinator. | "fatal claw combinator" is a real Google autocomplete query, which is why it gets a row instead of a footnote. |
| Kannium | The upgrade currency spent on the Claw. | Achievement "Claw Sharpening" — Use Kannium to upgrade your Claw; achievement "Recalibration" — reset the Claw to recover the Kannium you've used. | Respec exists, and it is a post-ending unlock: Recalibration is flagged "Achievable After the Ending". |
| Adrian's Marble | A material collected in pieces that converts into slots. | 1.0 pre-release hotfix, 2026-08-20 — a chest piece in the Origin Lab was not applying, and the fix converted 1 piece into 1 slot. | The piece-to-slot conversion is only documented in that hotfix note; no full slot table has been published. |
The Claw itself
The title object is a progression chain, not a single weapon.
| System | What it does | Confirmed by | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Damaged Silver Claw | An early broken form of the weapon. | Achievement "Destroyed Legacy" — Acquire the Damaged Silver Claw. | — |
| Golden Claw | The royal claw, tied to the authority of the Elord kings. | Achievement "King's Authority" — Obtain the Golden Claw. Region Teaser #5 calls Kisha the heir to both the Golden Claw and the Silver Claw. | — |
| Silver Chain | The tool that cuts through the black corruption in the Aphotic Marsh. | Region Teaser #4 (2026-07-29). | Granted by the figure waiting at the bottom of the marsh, per the same teaser. |
| Fatal Claw | The ultimate weapon completed over the course of the story. | Steam store description: "Complete the ultimate weapon, Fatal Claw, and uncover the mastermind behind all the chaos." | — |
Movement and world systems
What actually opens the map up.
| System | What it does | Confirmed by | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Vanrion's Gate | The teleport network, and it is upgradeable. | Achievements "Return" (Teleport through the Vanrion's Gate) and "Dimension Walker" (Upgrade the Vanrion's Gate). | Two separate achievements means fast travel has a progression step of its own. |
| Stone Warp | A second warp mechanism, named in patch notes. | Patch v0.9.269 (2026-07-20) fixed progression being blocked after using a Stone Warp without activating an Upper Elord Castle lever. | Documented only through the bug that it caused. |
| Aisare's Stone Shards | A collectible set delivered to a researcher. | Achievements "For a Great Cause" (deliver one shard to Iedart) and "He Was an Excellent Assistant" (collect all of them and complete her research). | The full shard count is not published by Steam or by NDEV GAMES. |
| Memory Fragments | A post-ending collectible. | Achievement "Memory Collector" — [Achievable After the Ending] Obtain a total of 20 Memory Fragments. | 20 is the achievement threshold, not necessarily the total that exists in the game. |
| The Archive | An information source you report back from, repeatedly. | Achievements "Knowledge Is Power" (deliver Archive information to Max) and "Gatorware Rookie" (do it four times). | Four deliveries is the counted achievement; whether more exist is not published. |
What this means in practice
Two things in the table change how you play rather than how you fight. Recalibration means the Claw upgrade path is not permanent — you can reset it and recover spent Kannium, but only after the ending. And Meditation of Jibanam is a traversal unlock disguised as a combat mutation: without it the Water Sanctuary is off the table.
System list verified:
Every system below is named either in the Steam store description, the achievement schema, or a dated NDEV GAMES patch note. Numbers the game has not published are written as "not published" rather than estimated.
